Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the act of optimising and altering website settings and web page content to “show” a search engine what the page is about. For example, if you sell socks in Hong Kong, you want to be found on search engines when people in Hong Kong search for a shop which sells socks. Keyword analysis and market survey will show the most optimised words for your business and website to be found upon. Now these keywords have to be “embedded” in the programming language of the page and the content has to be written accordingly.

Another option for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is link-building. Link building is a way of getting traffic to your site. For the socks shop, link building will be getting the website mentioned on a local website which has a collection of boutiques or on a local fashion website.
